Christopher Zarembinski, M.D. is an attending physician at the Pain Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Specializing in anesthesiology, he has practiced at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for the past 33 years practicing exclusively in pain management and is one of the original founders of the Cedars Pain Center. The Pain Center has become a model program for the hospital with respect to comprehensive management. The multidisciplinary approach used translates into individually designed treatment programs that best suit patients’ needs. He has also worked with the very popular and acclaimed television show, Dancing with the Stars, as their medical consultant for the past 19 seasons.
Dr. Zarembinski previously served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Pain Management Center and at the University of Southern California (USC) Department of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Zarembinski received his medical degree from the University of Arizona School of Medicine. He completed his internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix and his anesthesiology residency at Washington University in St. Louis. He also completed a fellowship in pain management UCLA’s Anesthesiology Department.
Areas of interest include stem cell research, joint and spine treatment, and education. He holds several patents in steerable catheter technology, and authored the chapter “Anatomy of Lumbar Puncture and Epidural Analgesia” in Gray’s Surgical Anatomy. He currently is involved with intradiscal stem cell research with the Regenerative Medicine Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, with funding from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). Ongoing work investigates genomic sequencing of platelet-rich plasma for knee applications in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic, Hospital for Special Surgery, Mayo Clinic, University of Colorado, and Stanford.
Since 2018, Dr. Zarembinski has served as the pain physician for the Royal Family in the United Arab Emirates. This has led to an appointment as Consultant in Anesthesia/Pain Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. A working relationship with the Embassy of U.A.E. in Washington DC promises additional projects for future clinical collaboration.
As a board member for the California Association to Aid Ukraine (CAAU), the past eleven years have been spent in working to bring the gift of mobility to needy children and adults in the Ukraine. Working with Wheels for Humanity, over ten deliveries of wheel chairs have been delivered to multiple cities within the Ukraine. Through CAAU, Dr. Zarembinski participated in a project to establish the Pediatric Emergency and Trauma Center, first in Ukraine, at Lviv City Children’s Clinical Hospital.
