Dr Marshall Grode has served as an active member of the Spine Institute Foundation (SIF) since and before its inception as a valued advisor helping navigate the complex world we live in. He has also participated in the training and mentorship of SIF fellows who trained at UCLA with Dr J. Patrick Johnson since 1993 where Dr Grode was an Associate Clinical Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA along with Dr Johnson. Dr Grode then served as a mentor continuously for every Spine Fellow who trained at Cedars Sinai for 20 years from 2001-2020.
Marshall Grode received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He completed a surgical internship at Bellevue Hospital-Cornell Division and a surgical residency at Cornell-New York Hospital. He served two years as a Submarine Medical Officer in the United States Navy before completing a neurosurgical residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital/New York Neurological Institute. Dr. Marshall Grode has been a member of numerous professional societies including, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
Dr Grode now serves as an Emeritus Advisor to the Spine Institute Foundation and his expertise, contributions, input, guidance and leadership are highly valued by past trainees and staff for over 40 years at Cedars Sinai.
