Dr Apostle is attending physician in the Department of Physical Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Apostle is an active member of the North American Spine Society and the Spine Intervention Society. He also serves as an attending physician at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center Spine Center and the Cedars Sinai Pain Center.
Dr. Apostle received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, where he was highly regarded member of the Men’s Varsity Tennis Team. He earned his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1990 then completed his internship at the Boston University Framingham Union Hospital. Dr. Apostle also completed a residency in Psychiatry at the Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. He remained in Los Angeles to complete a second residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UCLA, where he served as the Chief Resident. His residency research thesis “Prevalence of Median Nerve Entrapment in the Dominant Hand of Competitive Tennis Players” appears in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Apostle’s unique combination of specialties is common to less than a dozen physicians in the United States.
Dr. Apostle has been a leading researcher in clinical trials in CNS and Pain indications. He has participated in over 40 pharmaceutical sponsored trials as a Principle Investigator and Sub-Investigator. He has been a board member of the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), the leading trade organization for Clinical Research Sites since its inception in 2012. Dr. Apostle has been instrumental in shaping the pharmaceutical industry by participating in 4 initiatives including one as a member of the Advocacy Group with TransCelerate in 2015. In a Site Advocacy Group with INC/Syneos Health, he worked on protocol development for various pharmaceutical companies. He was also heavily involved in the CLEAR project for Contract Execution where he interfaced with project managers and attorneys from over 20 pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Apostle also was the lead site representative with project management from Allergan in leading more than 25 pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations (CRO’s) in the STUDY DASHBOARD PROJECT to develop a study dashboard card for pharmaceutical companies and CRO’s to provide to sites during clinical trial administration.
Dr. Apostle lectures frequently in both professional and public organizations. He has dedicated his clinical practice, educational pursuits and research to the treatment of patients with spinal disorders, pain, depression, and anxiety.
